Cyprus Pride March – Out and Proud!

This year we invite you to join us on our Parade to keep our fight, diversity and colours on the street again. 17th May is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia to commemorate the World Health Organization’s decision in 17th May 1990 to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder. Therefore in Cyprus we also celebrate the date to draw attention to fighting together against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia against LGBTI people.

We invite you to join our Parade on 18th May after series of events that will take place on that week till 18th, and we will walk together on 18th at 17:00 from Nicosia Dereboyu across Avenue Cinema to Lefkeliler Hanı and there will be an after party at Lefkeliler Hanı.

Queer Cyprus is a civil society movement that started in 2008 with the name of “Initiative Against Homophobia” to change the discriminatory laws in the north of Cyprus and to create public opinion for the rights and freedoms of Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans and Intersex people. Queer Cyprus embraces diversity and wages a feminist, anti-militarist, ecologist and veganist struggle against all forms of oppression.
