Lawyer Faika Deniz Paşa, Queer Cyprus: Hate has been removed from the laws, but it has not been removed from mentalities. Our bilboard campaign on awareness raising in Cyprus was attacked. However, it was still an achievement that society discussed about LGBTI+ issues. #GenderandLaw

Queer Cyprus is a civil society movement that started in 2008 with the name of “Initiative Against Homophobia” to change the discriminatory laws in the north of Cyprus and to create public opinion for the rights and freedoms of Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans and Intersex people. Queer Cyprus embraces diversity and wages a feminist, anti-militarist, ecologist and veganist struggle against all forms of oppression.
