All around the world, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and interphobia manifest themselves in various discriminatory attitudes and behaviours in our society. Sometimes these discriminatory attitudes overlap with our ethnic origin, race, beliefs, values, and other identities. The thematic discussion “Is it intersectionality?” will be held in collaboration with Queer Cyprus Association and VOIS Cyprus. We will discuss intersectionality from the perspectives of sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity and race. The event is open to anyone interested and is limited to a small number of participants. The event will take place on Saturday 8th October, Kaldi at between 15:00 – 17:00. The discussion language will be in English and language support will be provided to those who have difficulties expressing themselves in English. Those who want to participate in the event are required to pre-register by filling out the Thematic Discussion Registration form. Registration Form: https://bit.ly/queervoiscyprus

Queer Cyprus is a civil society movement that started in 2008 with the name of “Initiative Against Homophobia” to change the discriminatory laws in the north of Cyprus and to create public opinion for the rights and freedoms of Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans and Intersex people. Queer Cyprus embraces diversity and wages a feminist, anti-militarist, ecologist and veganist struggle against all forms of oppression.
