Volunteering Training

The second capacity building training of the Diversity of Colours Project for Queer activists will be held on Saturday 13th of July, 2019 between 10:00 and 18:00 at Civic Space. The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by Queer Cyprus Association.

Three year project gave a start on December 2018 with the slogan ‘‘Lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex and beyond (LGBTI+), the Diversity of Colours Project for a Cyprus where all colours can

coexist!’’ and it aims to improve access of LGBTI+’s to human rights and to prevent discrimination in the northern part of Cyprus.

Fundraising Training will be given by Hatice Kapusuz, Civil Society Development Center – Capacity Building Coordinator. In the first half of the training, which will start at 10:00 am, there will be variety of theoretical information about the issues that need to be considered in working with volunteers. In the second half of the training which will be held in the afternoon, activists will put their theoretical knowledge into practice with the guidance of Hatice Kapusuz.

The training is for Queer Cyprus Association members however it is open to everyone who are willing to become a member.

Queer Cyprus is a civil society movement that started in 2008 with the name of “Initiative Against Homophobia” to change the discriminatory laws in the north of Cyprus and to create public opinion for the rights and freedoms of Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans and Intersex people. Queer Cyprus embraces diversity and wages a feminist, anti-militarist, ecologist and veganist struggle against all forms of oppression.
